  (A)  What are Cookies ?

Mention “cookies”, and most people expect a treat to appear. When talking about computers, smart phones and all those mobile devices (“Device”) you use to access to the internet, however, cookies aren’t what’s on the desert menu. They are not virus or spyware. In fact, they are not even physical objects. Yet, they do a great deal of work that makes it possible for you to browse the internet.

  (B)  What are they for ?

What actually happens when you visit an online shop for the first time is that the site sends the cookie to your Device. Your Device stores it in a file located inside your web browser. To help you find it, this file is often called as Cookie. These cookies are used to keep track of the items in your shopping cart as you explore the site. Without cookies, your shopping cart would reset to zero every time you clicked a new link on the site. That would make it impossible to buy anything online!

A website might also use cookies to keep a record of your most recent visit or to record your login information. Many people find this useful so that they can store passwords on commonly used sites, or simply so they know what they have visited or downloaded in the past. See, this isn’t always a bad thing.

  (C)  Types of Cookies

Different types of cookies keep track of different activities.

First party cookies. These are set by the website you’re visiting. For example, when you visit SportsFix, the cookies will be set on our domain and only we can read them.

WE HAVE NO ACCESS TO OR CONTROL OVER THE THIRD PARTY COOKIES AND THEY ARE NOT SUBJECT TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY. PLEASE REVIEW THEIR PRIVACY POLICY FOR DETAILS.  If you want to prevent such third party from sending and reading cookies on your device, you will need to visit each of their websites individually to request that you be removed from that system

Session cookies. These are used only when you are actively navigating a website; once you leave the site, the session cookie disappears.

Persistent cookies. They are saved on your Device. So, they don’t get deleted when you close your browser. We use persistent cookies when we need to know who you are for more than one browsing session. For example, we use them to remember your preferences for the next time you visit.

Advertising cookies. Some websites use advertising networks to show you specially targeted adverts when you visit. These networks may also be able to track your browsing across different sites. We may use advertising cookies but they won’t track your browsing outside the SportsFix.
